The overall direction of my senior project is set, and I’ve established the camera paths. I’m now adding story and detail elements and running test renders.
Once I finish rendering each frame, I’ll refer to a tutorial on converting these renders into a 360 video to create my 360 project video. If it’s successful, I’ll add final details such as planets, objects, and background elements to complete my project.
Then THE SENIOR PROJECT IS OVER!!
For inspirational thoughts, I recently watched Interstellar by Christopher Nolan. There are lots of scientific facts of course but this time, I focused on visuals. This film emphasizes its outstanding quality through visual effects. The stunning stars, intense black hole, and unseen landscapes of space are realistically brought to life through these effects. Such exceptional visuals enhance the film’s emotional impact and sense of realism.
For me, the wormhole and black hole are the most crucial elements and central themes in the film. If Interstellar has a significant distinction from other space-themed movies, it’s in its challenge to portray the black hole accurately. While many films have mentioned wormholes and black holes, none have depicted them thoroughly. And, as seen in Inception, Christopher Nolan is highly interested in depicting warped spaces and surreal yet realistic environments, so it makes sense that he was drawn to these themes. The scene depicting the wormhole brilliantly captures the connection to another space, as we might imagine it. For me, the best scene in the film was the one where they pass through the wormhole, more impressive than any other moment.
Due to the large scale, rendering took a lot of time, and it was challenging to realize my vision within the limitations of my computer. However, if circumstances allowed, I’d be eager to add more elements like a black hole, stars, and planets. These additions would elevate the quality of my project and allow users to experience it more vividly. This project has been a journey of pushing creative and technical boundaries, and with each layer of detail, I hope to bring viewers closer to the wonder and mystery of the universe.
